Annapurna Circuit Trek
The legendary Annapurna Circuit circumnavigates the entire Annapurna massif, crossing the dramatic Thorong La Pass (5,416m) from the Marsyangdi Valley to the Kali Gandaki Valley. This 16-day trek traverses incredible ecological and cultural diversity — from Hindu villages in the lowlands to Tibetan Buddhist communities in Manang and Mustang.
Detailed Itinerary
Arrival Kathmandu
Arrival, briefing, preparation.
Drive to Besisahar, Trek to Bhulbhule
Scenic 6-7hr drive, short trek to trailhead.
Bhulbhule to Jagat
Enter Annapurna Conservation Area. Waterfalls, rice terraces.
Jagat to Dharapani
Cross suspension bridges, climb through forests.
Dharapani to Chame
District headquarters of Manang. Apple orchards, mountain views.
Chame to Pisang
Dramatic cliffs, Paungda Danda rock face, first high Himalayan views.
Pisang to Manang
Upper route via Ghyaru for better acclimatization. Braga Monastery.
Acclimatization in Manang
Hike to Ice Lake (4,600m) or Milarepa Cave. Himalayan Rescue Association talk.
Manang to Yak Kharka
Gradual ascent through alpine pasture. Possible blue sheep sightings.
Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Short trek to pass base. Early night for pre-dawn start.
Cross Thorong La to Muktinath
Pre-dawn start. Summit Thorong La (5,416m). Descend to sacred Muktinath.
Muktinath to Jomsom
Visit Muktinath Temple. Descend through Kali Gandaki Valley.
Fly to Pokhara
Early morning flight. Afternoon at lakeside.
Pokhara Sightseeing
Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, boat on Phewa Lake.
Drive/Fly to Kathmandu
Return to capital. Celebration dinner.
Departure
